Meet Our Executive

SIMPHIWE DLAMINI - PRESIDENT

Duties
  • Represents students in senate meetings
  • Accountable to the students body meeting
  • Chief signatory to all SRC fund transactions
  • Signatory in any other formal agreements between the SRC and stakeholders

SIVE DLAMINI - VICE PRESIDENT

Duties
  • Deputises the president in the absence of the latter
  • Performs duties as delegated to them by the President in line with Constitution.

KHUNJULIWE SIMELANE - SECRETARY

Duties
  • Chief administrative officer
  • Takes minutes for SRC, student’s body meetings and any other official meetings.
  • Responsible for correspondence and filing
  • Circulates and signs all internal notices, memorandums and agendas 
  • Oversees all decisions and resolutions 
  • Keeps SRC stamp
  • Signatory to all financial transactions, and signs in the absence of president and vice.
  • Prepares and reads annual reports on the overall work of the SRC

NOMILE XABA - FINANCE

Duties
  • Custodian of SRC funds
  • Second signatory to SRC financial statements
  • Responsible for issuing out SRC cheques
  • Liaise between students and the college accountant on all matters involving student finances and other services.
  • Accountable for monies received and spent by SRC
  • Keeps proper records of accounts and is responsible for being audited 
  • Present financial statements monthly and whenever necessary to the SRC or an auditing officer
  • Investigates the financial status of any student organisation recognised by the SRC.
  • Keeps all records and is a custodian of quotations made in respect of any purchase together with receipts.
  • Receives all payments for the SRC fee and shall in turn remit the money to the SRC account.

General Members

DIRECTOR OF HEALTH

Duties
  • Overall administrator of health issues of students
  • Liaise between student and Wellness Clinic where necessary
  • Be involved and take a lead role in health campaigns, seminars and any other health related activities that may benefit students.
  • Keeps a first AID kit on behalf of the SRC and provide first AID services during any time of need
  • Liaise with the Regional psychologists for periodical counselling and debriefing of students who may need such services.
  • Reports any students who falls sick to the DSA who shall then report to the College Administration.
  • Promotes health based education through clubs, seminars.

DIRECTOR OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Duties
  • Responsible for the promotion of the academic welfare and interests of students and make such known to the college administration.
  • Represents students in the faculty board on issues pertaining to the academic affairs.
  • Liaise between students, the librarian and computer/Laboratory Technician.
  • Conveys all academic issues from the Faculty board to students via class representatives.
  • Attends all meetings pertaining to the Library and Book Shop and computer laboratory functioning.

DIRECTOR OF SPORTS AND RECREATION

Duties
  • Responsible for all sporting activities of students, internal or external.
  • Attends all meetings pertaining to sports activities of students
  • Coordinate the maintenance of sporting facilities.
  • Liaise with the Dean of Students (DSA) on all matters pertaining to sports and the organizing thereof.
  • Makes proposals via the DSA of the sporting equipment that may be of necessity to student’s life in the college.
  • Shall at the beginning of the year register all students wishing to participate in sports and shall keep a record to be used during sporting activities

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND FUNDRAISING

Duties
  • Create and implement income generating projects to sustain the SRC fund.
  • Write proposals to potential sponsors for the running of SRC activities and shall together with the SRC president endorse their signatures.
  • Direct all monies generated from fundraising activities to the office of the Director of Finances.
  • Mobilise sponsorship through the office of the DSA to draw in funds and equipment for sporting equipment and activities.

DIRECTOR OF CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT

Duties
  • Responsible for the overall organisation of activities pertaining to the culture, entertainment and the social life of students in the college.
  • Responsible for bringing together persons to practice for such activities as capping ceremony, graduation, etc.
  • Be responsible for the reception of invites for cultural activities participation and shall be active in organising the preparations for such events.
  • Be responsible for securing venues for all College cultural and social activities.

DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORT AND MAINTENANCE

Duties
  • Responsible for the official transport needs of students requiring SRC monies.
  • Authorise and monitor transport for use by the SRC, recognised students formations and for sporting activities.
  • Report defects in hostels, classrooms and on any college property for maintenance via DSA.
  • Monitors and maintains an inventory of overall SRC equipment

DIRECTOR OF SPIRITUAL AFFAIRS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

Duties
  • Responsible for the spiritual fellowship activities of students in the College
  • Ensure that students attend the monthly mass in the Roman Catholic church
  • Responsible for organizing and coordinating the student Christian movement (SCM)
  • Ensure that the SCM submits a financial budget and constitution to the SRC every academic year.
  • Also, conduct fundraising activities under SCM and shall run its own activities e.g. outreaches and revival using such funds
  • Remit a certain levy to the SRC depending on the amount received each academic year and also according to the Funds generated from the Fundraising. Such shall be in percentage form and shall be agreed on by the SRC and the SCM leadership
  • Support the activities of students with other religions except for Christianity.
